The historical course of the changes in the agriculture and vegetation rund the Lake Balaton was succesfully studied bí statistical investigations of the Holocene sediments of the Lake. Between the number of settlements of the pre- and proto-historical phases and pollen numbers of cereals as well as the NAP numbers close correlation was found.
