Az erdőrezervátum rendkívül változatos és tagolt, nehezen bejárható területen fekszik, az ökológiai feltételek, az élőhelyek (sziklagyeptől a szurdokerdőig minden) és a faállomány-szerkezet ennek megfelelően kiemelkedően változatos. Sok fafaj fordul itt elő, idős egyedekkel; régen kezelt tölgyes foltokkal. Az erdődinamika kutatását a nagyon változatos termőhely nehezíti.

"The forest reserve is situated on extremely varied and rugged, hardly passable area, accordingly the ecological conditions, the habitats (from rocky grasslands to forests of ravines) and the stand structure are outstandingly diverse. Many tree species occur here, with old individuals and long ago managed oak patches. The research of forest dynamics is complicated by the immensely varied site."
