Abstract:
The remnants of floodplain forests are very important for the maintenance of biodiversity in the agricultural alluvial landscape of Central Europe. This paper deals with the historical development of floodplain forests in the Protected Landscape Area of Litovelské Pomoraví (Czech Republic). The aim of this paper is to contribute to a better understanding of the anthropogenic influences that have, over centuries, led to the present state of floodplain forests in the agricultural landscape of European floodplains.
